Orencio brings his perspective—marrying technical precision with a deep, actor-centric focus—to narrative, commercial, and documentary projects across Spain and the United States.
Orencio Carvajal (b. 1995) is a Spanish filmmaker whose work bridges the gap between raw, intimate storytelling and the precision of large-scale cinema. A graduate at the top of his class from ECAM (Madrid Film School), Orencio’s debut short, Ladrones De Cuerpos, premiered at the Academy-qualifying 45th Huesca Film Festival, followed by his feature documentary, La Atención, which premiered at the Málaga Film Festival (2019) and is currently streaming on Filmin.
His professional evolution took place on the sets of some of the world’s most significant productions. Working on the crews of Tim Miller (Terminator: Dark Fate) and Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman 1984), as well as prestige series such as Vince Gilligan’s Pluribus, Netflix’s The Crown, and HBO’s House of the Dragon and Westworld, Orencio gained an «inside-out» mastery of the industry’s highest standards.
This duality—academic excellence and blockbuster experience—has defined his latest work. Shot in the Canary Islandsand post-produced in New York City, his newest project features Paul Giamatti and Clara Wong, born from a period of unique proximity and collaboration with the actors. The film represents a meta-cinematic exploration of the industry, fueled by the intimacy and access of his time within major production circles.
